Occupying an area of 360.63 sq mi and having a total population of over 21.2K with the tribal tradition of White, Native American, Black or African American, Asian, Hispanic or Latino, Pacific Islander, and others on top of around 7.4K housing units and 5.4K families, Putnam County was established in 1807 with Eatonton as the county seat and the largest municipality. It was named in the honor of Israel Putnam.
